Anthony N. Pritzker – Managing Partner

Tony is a Managing Partner and co-founder of The Pritzker Group. Tony has over twenty years leading middle-market manufacturing and distribution companies. From 2004 to 2007 he served as Chairman of AmSafe Partners, the leader in aircraft seating restraints. From 2000 to 2004 he served as President of Baker Tanks, the nation's leading tank and pump equipment rental business. In 1998, he was appointed by the Marmon Group to oversee Stainless Industrial Companies, a portfolio of several industrial manufacturing companies.  From 1996-1998 Tony served as the Regional Vice President of operations in Asia for Getz Bros. & Co.  Prior to 1996, Tony was a Group Executive at the Marmon Group and directed operations at Arzo, MD Tech, Micro-Aire, Oshkosh Door and Fenestra. 

Tony is an active member and leader of the Los Angeles community.  He is a trustee of Cal Arts, serves as a Director for Heal The Bay and is a member of the Dartmouth Board of Overseers.  For his stewardship, Tony has received honors from Friends of Sheba Medical Center in Israel, Young Presidents’ Organization and the Brandeis Bardin Institute. Tony received his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and his B.A. in Engineering from Dartmouth College.

J.B. Pritzker – Managing Partner

J.B. is a Managing Partner and co-founder of The Pritzker Group.  In addition, J.B. is a Partner and founder of New World Ventures, one of Chicago's prominent early-stage technology fund managers. A founding board member of the Illinois Venture Capital Association, a founding director of the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center and a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization, J.B. has been a forceful and active proponent of a stronger technology base in the Midwest region.  He also continues to serve on a variety of other private corporate boards.

Crain's Chicago Business honored J.B. with the designation as a business leader in its "Who's Who of Chicago Business."  The City Club of Chicago awarded him Citizen of the Year, and he received the Humanitarian Award from the Holocaust Memorial Foundation of Illinois.

J.B. is a trustee and serves on the investment committee of Northwestern University and is a member of the Board of Governors of the Northwestern University School of Law.  Appointed by the Governor of Illinois, he serves as Chairman of the Illinois Human Rights Commission.  He is also Chairman of the Illinois Holocaust Museum Campaign.  J.B. is an attorney and a member of the Illinois and Chicago Bar Associations. J.B. received his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and his A.B. in political science from Duke University.

James E. Hoffman – Principal

Jim is a Principal at The Pritzker Group and serves on the firm’s Investment Committee.  Prior to joining The Pritzker Group, Jim was a Managing Director and senior member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Robert W. Baird & Co. advising on merger, acquisition, divestiture, corporate sale, leveraged buyout, recapitalization and takeover defense advisory assignments in the industrial/manufacturing and consumer products sectors.  Jim also served as the Chairman of Baird's Fairness Opinion Committee and as the Associate Director of Baird’s U.S. M&A advisory practice.  Prior to joining Baird in 1999, Jim was a Vice President in the Investment Banking Department of Credit Suisse First Boston, where he provided merger and acquisition advisory and financing services to clients in the Midwest. 

Jim received his M.B.A., with distinction, from Harvard Business School and his B.B.A., with high distinction, from the University of Michigan.

Richard B. Griffin – Group Vice President

Richard is Group Vice President at The Pritzker Group and oversees the firm’s portfolio operations and implementation of strategic initiatives.  Richard was formerly Group Vice President for Stainless Industrial Companies, a portfolio of industrial manufacturing companies at the Marmon Group.  At Stainless, he provided operational oversight and assisted management with add-on acquisitions, divestitures and financings.  Prior to Stainless Industrial, Richard was a Senior Principal at The Keystone Group, a management consulting firm specializing in operational turnaround work for underperforming middle-market manufacturing and distribution businesses.  At Keystone, Richard directed a number of highly successful profitability improvement engagements for distressed companies in the transportation, consumer goods, retail and manufacturing industries.  Earlier in his career, Richard was a consultant at Andersen Consulting.  He also served four years as an officer in the United States Marine Corps.

Richard received his M.B.A from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and his B.S. in Languages and Linguistics from Georgetown University.

David J. Rosen

Prior to joining The Pritzker Group, David was a Managing Director at Equity Group Investments, the holding company for the investments of Sam Zell. David has over twenty years of investment and finance experience across a wide variety of industries in both public and private equity investments. He headed the Distressed M&A Group for Houlihan Lokey in Chicago where he was responsible for advising on mergers and acquisitions of companies involved in complex financial and operational restructurings. David was a Co-Founder and Principal of Dakota Capital Partners and a Partner of the Zell/Chilmark Fund.

David received his B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University.

Michael D. Sands

Prior to working with The Pritzker Group, Mike was part of the original Orbitz management team and held positions including Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Operating Officer. He helped take the Orbitz business from start-up to IPO, then through two acquisitions (Cendant and Blackstone). As COO, Sands grew Orbitz to the #2 overall domestic travel site. Prior to joining Orbitz, Mike worked for General Motors Corporation as one of a select group of external marketers designated with improving the auto company's North American marketing operations. His efforts at General Motors led Sands to being named a "Marketer of the Next Generation" by Brandweek magazine. Mike also held positions at Leo Burnett, including work with client United Airlines to launch UAL.com.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Northwestern University and a Masters in Management degree from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management.

Michael A. Barzyk – Senior Associate

Michael is a Senior Associate at The Pritzker Group. Prior to joining The Pritzker Group, Michael was an Associate and Senior Associate with CIVC Partners, a private equity firm that focuses on middle-market growth equity investments and leveraged buyouts. While at CIVC, Michael closed several transactions in the manufacturing, financial services, and media and telecommunications industries. In addition, he worked closely with portfolio company management teams to develop and execute their business strategies. Before joining CIVC, Michael was an investment banking analyst for Salomon Smith Barney (now Citigroup), where he completed several M&A, high yield, and investment grade fixed income transactions.

Michael received his M.B.A. with honors from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and his B.S. in Finance with high honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  Michael is a Certified Public Accountant.

Jonathan E. Maschmeyer – Senior Associate

Jonathan is a Senior Associate at The Pritzker Group. Prior to joining The Pritzker Group, Jonathan was an Associate and Senior Associate with RoundTable Healthcare Partners, a Chicago area middle-market, healthcare focused leveraged buyout firm. While at RoundTable, Jonathan closed several transactions in the medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution sectors. At RoundTable, Jonathan played an integral role in the evaluation and execution of new investments and assisted portfolio company senior executives with their key strategic objectives. Jonathan has held prior positions in investment banking at Greenhill & Co. and Merrill Lynch, both in New York City, where he assisted in the execution of numerous merger, acquisition, leveraged buyout, and financing assignments.

Jonathan received his M.B.A. with Honors from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business where he concentrated in Finance, Accounting and Entrepreneurship. Jonathan received his B.S. in Finance from the Indiana University in Bloomington.
