Recently, as part of the outgrowth of a two-year exploration of the venture ecosystem with PGVC, Steve founded Alpha Venture Partners, a growth and expansion stage venture fund.  Alpha is a new type of venture fund which partners with leading early stage investors, accelerators, angels and entrepreneurs to quickly and efficiently provide capital in their fastest growing companies’ follow-on rounds.

Steve has led investments in dozens of companies from a variety of software, tech-enabled IT and Internet sectors; his firm was among the first institutional investors in Medidata Solutions (NASDAQ: MDSO); LivePerson (NASDAQ: LPSN); UGO (acquired by Hearst) and Datasynapse (acquired by TIBCO).
